Celcom-Rihanna Concert

The upcoming Rihanna concert is being sponsored by Celcom, but looks like someone is not happy about the concert. Read this.

It is not the first time as it happened before with other international artists such as Linkin Park, Mariah Carey, Pussy Cat Dolls, and Gwen Stefani.

However, the local authorities has so far done a good job in ensuring the guidelines are met by the artists.

If we think the way PAS is thinking, then we need to shut down Hitz.TV and probably Astro as more than 80% of their contents are International. Later we will make sure that our local TV stations will stop broadcasting movies, dramas and other entertainments from the West as "this is not our culture".

If some of these Malaysians continues to think backwards then we will never move forward. Probably they are doing it for some attention or publicity. Anyhow, it doesn't matter as the Rihanna concert will still go on.

Oh, I wonder what are their(PAS) plans to censor the Internet? It should be interesting (to listen)......

cant blame them bro, they're just doing what goes along with the party's principal..

we've got to have some control on some of these issues especially matters which could likely lead to indecency.. if one thinks that allowing for all types of entertainment without any guidelines is cool and should be encourage then you are wrong my friend.. no harm in to have some fun but you have to set it right

This is the second time Celcom is getting into trouble with the conservative parties

The first was the 100DAYS 100CARS promotion.

You would think that after that, Celcom would be more cautious.

I'm not for or against the concert. That isn't my concern.

But Maxis and DiGi seem to be able to stay away from trouble (and controversies) better that Celcom.

and Celcom has a bigger share of Malay users than the other two. While they seem to be winning over the urban and hip crowd, I'm sure they don't want to loose their Malay base as well.

hey guys..

Can't u read the add?? Did it say that Celcom who sponsored Rihanna to do Concert here in KL?? AS i can see i was organized by pineapple concert..and celcom is just a M'sia company who want to reward their customer by giving 30% off for the cheapest ticket (RM198) And did Celcom says this ticket is only for Malay base customer only?? Its open for all celom customer right??

If u think u are malay and dont want to support this kind of thing then dont by the ticket and dont go..

im wondering which one that PAS complaining?? Rihanna herself or the country that Rihanna came from ?? If the country, mean taht from US who support Israel then why PAS dont to complaint on MAS doing 4 times a weak fly to US?? Why PAS let US airline land to Malaysia every weak?? how bout TV that show everyday US product? How bout HBO from ASTRO who belong to MAXIS CEO?

hmm for me if the person that they want to complaint they should blame the organizer not celcom coz its was not celcom who bring Rihanna here in KL

Many of the international artists had some hard time doing concerts in malaysia.

This is the new world. All of us need to accept and blend with each others culture.
